Shape Up With Spurs – part two

We are today bringing you the second in our series of video home workouts delivered by our coaches on the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s ‘Shape Up With Spurs’ programme.
With gyms and leisure centres across the country closed and social distancing measures in place, we aim to ensure you can stay fit and active from home.
This week’s session focuses on resistance, with a series of exercises that can be done either with weights, weighted objects you have at home, or no weights at all.
The workout is designed to exert key muscle groups and build strength – again, the exercises can be scaled depending on your ability.
Remember to warm-up at the start and cool down after your work-out...
‘Shape Up With Spurs’ is a free programme delivered at community centres within the Tottenham area to promote health and wellbeing among local residents.
The sessions have proven extremely popular and life-changing in some cases. One participant, Nzinga, said: “Before joining the programme I used to struggle to walk and found it difficult to get around.
"After taking part in the sessions, I have lost 30kg and now I’m able to jog and play badminton with my friends.
"As well as losing weight, the sessions have helped me to understand the importance of eating a balanced diet and have given me opportunities to meet like-minded people in the local community.”
