Sarah Wiltshire wins Player of the Month award

Wed 06 February 2019, 16:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Sarah Wiltshire has been named FA Women’s Championship Player of the Month for January.

The striker made a significant contribution to a great month for Spurs Ladies, helping Karen Hills’ side secure three wins out of three, including a 2-1 triumph at Sheffield United, 3-0 home win over Lewes and a sensational 3-2 injury-time victory at Millwall Lionesses.

The 27-year-old scored in the Sheffield United and Millwall games and saw off competition from Spurs Ladies team-mate Rianna Dean, plus Zoe Ness of Durham Women and Millwall’s Evie Clarke to claim the award.

I couldn’t have won this award without my team-mates. They all deserve recognition.

Sarah becomes the second Spur to earn the title of FA Women’s Championship Player of the Month this season after Rianna scooped the prize in October.

“I’m really happy to win this award and of course I’m thankful to everyone who voted for me,” said the forward. “I’m thrilled with how the team performed in January – we had some excellent results and I couldn’t have won this award without my team-mates. They all deserve recognition.”

Congratulations, Sarah!
