Five players have been confirmed to miss Saturday’s home match against Huddersfield Town, with Dele Alli still to be assessed.

Harry Kane suffered an ankle ligament injury in the Champions League victory over Manchester City in midweek and joins Serge Aurier (hamstring), Eric Dier (hip flexor) and Erik Lamela (hamstring) on the sidelines.

Striker Vincent Janssen, meanwhile, is undergoing rehab for an ankle problem and is expected to return to training next week.

As reported yesterday, England midfielder Dele fractured his left hand during Tuesday’s 1-0 triumph over City and is set to be assessed to determine his availability for action against the Terriers, although Mauricio Pochettino warned reporters at his pre-match press conference on Friday lunchtime: “We need to assess him this afternoon and tomorrow and then take the decision but to be honest I am not too optimistic. I am more optimistic (for him) to be available for the second leg against Manchester City but we’ll see.”

Kick-off at the new stadium is at 12.30pm.
