WSL Fantasy | Spurs Matchweek 8 Preview
As the WSL heads into the eighth round of fixtures for the season, Fantasy Football Scout take a look at which of our players you should include in your team for Matchweek 8 of WSL Fantasy.
We have teamed up with Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2026/27 season. They will be using their expertise to provide advice and matchweek tips, which should prove useful in ensuring you win your mini-leagues.
This matchweek, there are no fixtures scheduled in the WSL2, so this could be a good week for WSL Fantasy managers to play their Free Hit chip to ensure that they have a fully playing squad ahead of the weekend.
Best of Spurs
Cathinka Tandberg (£6.5m) scored her second goal of the WSL season to finish as our top points-scoring player in Matchweek 7. As a result, Tinka registered nine points in Matchweek 7.
Victoria Pelova (£6.5m) also had another good week for returns in Fantasy, supplying the assist for Tinka’s goal, which was her second league assist of the season.
Vic also recorded two appearance points as well as two attacking action points. WSL Fantasy assets register an attacking action point for every four attacking actions that they make in a game.
Attacking actions include having a shot on target, creating a chance, successful crosses and successful dribbles, and the Dutch international created two chances, registered six successful dribbles and supplied two accurate crosses in Saturday’s derby.
Julie Blakstad (£5.5m) registered a defensive action point against Arsenal after completing 11 defensive actions in the match. Players need to register 10 defensive actions (tackles won, interceptions, clearances, blocked shots and recoveries) to collect an additional point in WSL Fantasy.
Lize Kop (£5.0m) also made three saves in the fixture, meaning that she registered her third save point of the season.
Spotlight: Cathinka Tandberg (£6.5m)
Tinka has made a great start to the WSL season, returning 25 points across the opening seven matchweeks courtesy of two goals and five bonus points as well as 12 appearance points.
Our forward has had 15 shots in the league this season, with only Olivia Holdt (£7.5m) and Signe Gaupset (£6.0m) having had more across our squad. Tinka has also had seven shots on target, which is a team-leading tally.
The Norwegian has also created four chances for her teammates, one of which has been defined as an OPTA big chance.
She has also had a team-leading 30 touches in our opponents’ boxes across the opening seven matches of the season, and her on-pitch positioning suggests that more attacking returns are coming. At just one per cent ownership, Tinka could be a great differential for managers to invest in.
Most transferred in
Vic is once again proving popular with WSL Fantasy managers and is our most transferred-in player again this week. Across the league season so far, she has registered 55 points, with those points coming from her five goals, two assists, two clean sheets, five bonus points, six attacking action points and one defensive action point.
Our number 23 has already registered more points this WSL Fantasy season than she did in the whole of the last campaign.
Hidden Gem
With no WSL2 matches this weekend, Liverpool’s Fuka Nagano (£6.5m) could be an interesting differential for managers playing their Free Hit chip. Nagano has registered 33 points this season from two assists, two clean sheets, seven bonus points, three attacking action points and three defensive action points. Nagano is found in just 1% of WSL Fantasy teams.
