Team news | Roberto’s latest on Deki ‘an example for everyone’
Roberto De Zerbi said Dejan Kulusevski is ‘working well’ as he continues to train with the squad.
Out since April, 2025, Roberto said ‘Deki’ is being analysed ‘week by week’ by the medical staff and confirmed that both he and Pedro Porro - currently recovering from a hamstring injury - will travel with the squad to Old Trafford as we face Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday (5.30pm UK).
Asked for an update on Deki during his pre-match press conference on Friday, Roberto reported: “He is working well, tomorrow he comes with us, also Porro. I want all players tonight and tomorrow.
“He is working very well, and I think he is an example for everyone, Deki, because forget the player, but the example, how he reacts to the injury, how he reacts to being unlucky, the character he showed this time, was an example, a reference for everyone.”
Asked how close Deki is getting to returning to the matchday squad, Roberto replied: “I don't know, I don't know. It's not just my responsibility. We are working together with the medical staff. They are working very well with him. They have done special work. We have to analyse him week by week.”
