Martin Ho named September's WSL Manager of the Month

After an impressive opening month to the 2026/27 campaign, where we scored an impressive 15 goals in four games and collected 10 points in total, Martin has scooped up the monthly award for the second time in his career.

Winning the award for the first time back in February last term, our Head Coach oversaw an unbeaten first four games to the league campaign, which included some scintillating performances in front of goal to see us become the league’s joint-leading goalscorers to date.

But it wasn’t just the clinical displays in attack that caught the eye, as we also conceded just two goals across September – both of those coming in the first two matches - and registered two clean sheets.

Beginning the month with a 3-1 London derby win over West Ham United at Brisbane Road, we picked up a resolute point away at Liverpool before running rampant in our next two outings.

A remarkable second-half performance at Selhurst Park earned us a 7-0 win over newly promoted Crystal Palace, with all the goals coming after the break, before we made it 11 goals in two games with a 4-0 victory at home to Aston Villa.

The thumping win over the Eagles also earned Martin the LMA’s Performance of the week award.

Speaking after receiving the award, Martin told us: “This award is really a reflection of the work of the players and staff throughout September.

“The players have shown real quality, consistency and a strong commitment to the standards we want to set as a team, and the staff continue to do an outstanding job in supporting them every day.

“There is a really strong group of people here, with a lot of ambition and belief in what we are building. The direction of the club, the support around the team and the quality within the group gives us a lot to be excited about. It has been a positive start, but there is still so much more to come from this team.”
