WSL Fantasy | Spurs Matchweek 5 Preview

We have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2026/27 season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide advice and matchweek tips which should prove useful in ensuring you win your mini-leagues and helping you towards a chance at claiming some WSL prizes.

Compared to other fantasy games, the season is split into six blocks called ‘legs’, each with its own leaderboard and its own prize, meaning that a late start does not end the season because of the opportunity to win legs throughout the campaign.

This weekend is the last matchweek of the first leg but don’t worry, you can still build your 15-player fantasy squad ahead of the start of the second leg which will begin after the October international break.

Once you have built your squad, you can battle it out with fellow Spurs supporters in our Official League, which can be joined by selecting us as your favourite club.

Best of Spurs

It’s been another impressive week for our Women’s team with a dominant 4-0 victory in the league, followed by victory over Brighton in the Subway Players Cup.

During Matchweek Four’s victory over Aston Villa, we had 35 shots and an expected goals tally of 4.53 meaning we were unlucky not to have scored more than the four goals we did.

Victoria Pelova (£6.5m) scored two goals in Matchweek Four, returning 13-points for the week. Our midfielder has now returned three double-digit hauls in the opening four weeks of the season and is the third highest scoring player in the game. During the match against Villa, Victoria had a match high 13 touches in the oppositions box and registered five attacking actions resulting in an extra point for the Matchweek.

Victoria is now on five goal involvements this season, the joint most in the league. Meanwhile, Signe Gaupset (£6.0m) leads the way for the most assists across the two leagues this season with three after her Matchweek Four assist.

Olivia Holdt (£7.5m) was last week’s spotlight player and she scored the winning goal in the midweek Players Cup victory. Despite not registering an attacking return in Matchweek Four, Olivia still scored six points.

These came curtesy of her influence at both ends of the pitch as she registered 10 defensive actions (tackles won, interceptions, clearances, blocks and recoveries) which gave her an additional point. She also registered 10 attacking actions (shot on target, chance created, successful cross, successful dribble.) Players received an additional point for every four attacking actions that they register, meaning Olivia returned two points. She also picked up a clean sheet point.

Our defence also registered their second league clean sheet in a row in Matchweek Four. Goalkeeper Lize Kop (£5.0m) register another six point return. This season, she has returned 20 points so far curtesy of the two clean sheets as well as an impressive 39 defensive actions, which have resulted in two extra attacking action points and a bonus point. Lize has faced 12 shots so far this season and made ten saves. With goalkeepers earning an additional save point for every three saves made in a single match, Lize has great potential for registering these additional points this season.

Toko Koga (£5.5m) and Amanda Nilden (£5.0m) both registered a seven-point return. The pair both picking up an extra point, in addition to the clean sheet points, for passing the 10 defensive actions threshold. However, it was Caitlin Dijkstra (£5.5m) who was the top scoring Spurs player this week.

Spotlight: Caitlin Dijkstra (£5.5m)

Caitlin registered 14 points in Matchweek Four. Our defender was one of only six defenders to score in this round of fixtures. Caitlin, who is a big differential in the game, is found in just 1 per cent of WSL fantasy teams and has a fantastic route to points in the game.

Over the opening four weeks of the season, Caitlin has returned a goal, two clean sheets, 29 defensive actions resulting in one defensive action point and 12 attacking actions, which rewarded her with two additional points. Her 25 points for the season are level with Amanda and makes them both the ninth highest points scoring defenders in the game.

Our defender has had five shots and created five chances in the first four matchweeks of the season. She has also supplied five successful crosses. With the potential for returns at both ends of the pitch, and found in just 2 per cent of WSL Fantasy teams, Caitlin looks a great long-term investment for managers as she is currently averaging 6.3 points per start.

Most Transferred in

Victoria is currently the most transferred in Spurs player of the week. Over 1,300 managers have transferred her in since the Matchweek Four deadline passed.

Victoria’s popularity comes from her consistency over the course of the opening weeks of the season. She is currently averaging 9.5 points per start and her 35 points for the season, so it means that only one midfielder in the game has scored more points than Victoria.

Olivia and Kirsty Hanson (£8.0m) are once again proving popular with managers. They are averaging 7.8 and 6.8 points per start respectively this season.

Nottingham Forest’s Alana Murphy (£5.0m) could be a good differential for managers to invest in. The midfielder is currently found in just 4 per cent of teams and has made a good start to the WSL2 season.

Murphy has scored two goals and created five chances for her teammates this season. She has also registered six bonus points, completed 45 defensive actions which has resulted in three additional points as well as 19 attacking actions which have secured her four additional points.
