There were smiles etched across the faces of our players and supporters as we began our 2026/27 Women’s Super League campaign with a 3-1 win over West Ham United on the opening day.
We faced the Hammers in the opening game of the season last term which turned out to be a nervy 1-0 victory at Brisbane Road with Bethany England striking late from the penalty – well, this time around, our nerves were quickly put to ease with a clinical display in front of goal.
Signe Gaupset got us off the mark in the 18th minute with a composed half-volley from inside the box before she turned provider, teeing up Kirsty Hanson on the half hour mark for the Scotland international to net on her competitive debut for the Club.
Kirsty then grabbed her second of the afternoon with a stunning left-footed curling shot into the top corner and despite the visitors pulling a goal back in stoppage time, it was the perfect way to start our 2026/27 season with a big three points in front of our Spurs supporters.
