2026 World Cup | Robertson leads Scotland to huge win

Andy Robertson proudly captained Scotland to a huge win against Haiti in their Group C opener in the early hours of Sunday morning - Scotland's first World Cup win since 1990.

Our new signing 'Robbo' led the team out at Boston Stadium - home of NFL giants New England Patriots - and a passionate rendition of 'Flower of Scotland' before kicking-off Scotland's first World Cup match since 1998.

In the end, John McGinn's strike on 28 minutes proved enough for a win many saw as vital if Scotland are to progress to the knockout phase. They top the group after the opening round of matches after Brazil and Morocco played out a 1-1 draw in New Jersey.

Andy played the full 90+ as it turned into an anxious end before Scotland secured their first World Cup win since beating Sweden in Italia 90 - indeed, Frantzdy Pierrot headed a late chance wide from 10 yards for Haiti.

Scotland are back in action in Boston on Friday, when they face Morocco.

Next up for our players at the World Cup - Micky van de Ven and the Netherlands take on Japan in their Group F opener in Dallas on Sunday evening (9pm UK).
