Zeki Fryers has received the backing of Younes Kaboul after the defensive duo teamed up to good effect against Fulham.
Zeki reprised his central defensive role alongside captain Younes on Saturday, having performed similar duties for the second half of our 3-3 draw at West Brom the previous weekend - in addition to playing there for our recent Europa League trip to Benfica.
Having featured predominantly at left-back during his Spurs career to date, the 21-year-old demonstrated his versatility alongside experienced centre-half Younes - winning words of praise from the French international after our 3-1 triumph.
“Zeki was very good against Fulham and I’m delighted for him,” Younes said. “I’ve told him that he has to carry on like that because he’s still only young.
“He did well in the centre of defence and I think he had a very good game, especially for a lad of his age.
“Now he has to continue working hard and I believe he will do that.”
