The low down on Boden BK

English Barclays Premiership

Spurs play their third pre-season friendly ahead of the new campaign on Monday when the team travels to the biggest military town in Sweden to play Boden BK.

Boden is situated four miles north of Lulea and is 100 miles north of Stockholm. It boasts a population of 35,000 people and the club is hoping for over 7,000 spectators to attend the game.

The football club, which was formed in 1916, play in the Swedish second division and currently lie third in the table.

The second chairman of the club, Anders Haggberg, says: "We hope to win the second division this year."

Haggberg informs us that Boden have within their ranks a player from Russia, an attacking midfielder called Peter Sedunov who played for CSKA Moscow last year. Other star players include, Jukka Ollikalla, a Finnish defender who has played in the Swedish first division for Lulea, and defender Nils-Ake Claesson, who has played for Umea FC in the top flight.

Leeds United took the trip to Boden last pre-season and attracted a crowd of 5,300. The Yorkshiremen won the match 4-0, but Haggberg hopes his club will provide Spurs with a stiffer challenge.

"We hope to give Tottenham a harder fight to win the match against us. We hope to have over 7,000 people in attendance. David O'Leary was satisfied with the training camp and we hope that Tottenham will be happy with the camp in Boden. Because we have the midnight sun and it's a small town, the teams can have a nice time."
