New deal for Nabil

Mon 06 July 2015, 20:10|Tottenham Hotspur

The Club is delighted to announce that Nabil Bentaleb has signed a new five-year contract, which runs until 2020.

The all-action midfielder and graduate from our Academy was in outstanding form last season.

Still only 20, Nabil joined us initially as a trialist in September, 2011, signed Academy forms in January, 2012, and then made his debut at Southampton in December, 2013.

His performances in 20 appearances in 2013-14 earned an Algerian international call-up and he was part of the squad that made it to the knockout stages of the World Cup in Brazil last summer.

Nabil made a further 35 appearances in all competitions in 2014-15, forming a fine central midfield partnership with fellow Academy graduate Ryan Mason.

He opened his goalscoring account for us in the 4-0 win against Newcastle in the Capital One Cup in December, joined the Algeria squad again for the Africa Cup of Nations in January and, following his return, started every Premier League match until the end of the campaign.
