Medical appointments

Tue 06 July 2004, 12:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

We are delighted to announce that the current head physiotherapist of the Great Britain Olympic athletics team will be joining the club following the conclusion of the Athens Games.

The appointment of Dean Kenneally as our new first team physiotherapist follows the announcement earlier this year that our medical team would be restructured.

Australian Kenneally has previously worked at the Australian Institute for Sport in a number of sporting disciplines at the highest level for many years. He is 15 years postgraduate and has worked at three Olympic Games.

He will take up the post after his Athens assignment on September 23.

Geoff Scott is to become our new reserve team physio, the New Zealander is joining up from Fulham and will cover the first team until the arrival of Kenneally. A locum physio will be drafted in to look after the reserves in the meantime.

"I believe the medical department at Spurs needed a fresh approach from a new team," commented our Head of Medical Facilities, Dr Charlotte Cowie. "The appointments of Dean and Geoff are indicative of our determination to make sure that we have got top class medical staff.

"We have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to select from some very high calibre candidates for these posts. Dean and Geoff are both immensely qualified and we are delighted that they are on board."
