Nabil Bentaleb bagged his first goal for Algeria in their 2-1 victory over Romania on Wednesday evening.
Our 19-year-old midfielder hit the target in only his third international appearance as his country continued their preparations for the World Cup.
Nabil, who found himself up against Club-mate Vlad Chiriches – playing at the heart of Romania’s defence, opened the scoring after 22 minutes, only for Alexandru Chipciu to restore parity six minutes later. El Arbi Hillel Soudani won it for Algeria mid-way through the second half.
Nabil was substituted with six minutes remaining, with Vlad playing the full game for Romania.
Elsewhere, Gylfi Sigurdsson was in action for Iceland in their 1-0 friendly win against Estonia. Our 24-year-old midfielder started the game before being withdrawn in the 84th minute.
