Christian's pride

Wed 14 May 2014, 13:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Christian Eriksen described his clean sweep of our One Hotspur Members and Supporters Clubs Player of the Season Awards as 'a real honour'.

The Danish playmaker collected the Supporters Clubs prize at their awards presentation at the Training Centre on Saturday. Sandro’s strike against Manchester United took Goal of the Season.

Christian was then presented with both the One Hotspur Members and Junior Members Player of the Season trophies after helping us to a 3-0 win against Villa in our final match of the campaign at the Lane on Sunday.

Also named Danish Player of the Year by Denmark’s equivalent of the PFA, Christian ended with 10 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions, including seven goals and eight assists in 25 matches in the Premier League.

“I’m really honoured to get these awards in my first season at the club, I’m really happy about it,” said Christian.

“It’s always good that the fans enjoy what you are doing and that’s the reason they go to the stadium, to be entertained and hopefully see us win.

“I’m pleased the supporters like what I’ve been doing and that I’ve been able to give them something back. Hopefully it will continue like that next season.”
