Nabil Bentaleb’s Algeria suffered a 3-1 defeat to Ivory Coast at the quarter-final stage of the African Cup of Nations on Sunday evening.
Wilfried Bony opened the scoring with a first half header, but Algeria hit back six minutes after the break through Hilal Soudani.
Bony restored Ivory Coast’s lead on 68 minutes, with Gervinho competing the scoring four minutes into stoppage time.
Nabil completed the full match in central midfield – meaning the 20-year-old has played every minute of every match for his nation at the tournament finals.
He also scored in Algeria’s 2-0 win over Senegal last week.
