    Assets for Success  

    Assets for Success is developing an ambitious approach to support the development of all young people. Young people are the future. They deserve to enjoy fulfilling lives and realise their potential through positive relationships and exciting opportunities. Investing in them is crucial to the growth and success of our economy and communities. It is vital to create communities that enable young people to thrive and flourish and be safe, social and successful.

    To be ‘safe, social and successful’ people need certain qualities – or assets. Assets are research based, personal qualities that enable us to achieve our full potential. As noted by the Confederation of British Industry, assets are also crucial to employability.

    “Assets are a set of attributes, skills and knowledge that all labour market participants should possess to ensure they have the capability of being effective in the workplace – to the benefit of themselves, their employer and the wider economy.” CBI

    The following assets have been identified within the Assets for Success Outcomes Framework. They form the basis of the programme:

    The Assets development approach uses coaching, education and employment expertise to help young people recognise the personal qualities they possess and how they can improve them. Coaching has been identified as one of the most effective ways of developing these assets since they are most easily developed in everyday learning and experience in the workplace, community and social settings.
