Internationals | Assists and big wins for Bissouma and Perisic

Ivan Perisic and Yves Bissouma both contributed to comfortable victories for Croatia and Mali respectively in tournament qualifying matches on Friday evening.

Earning his 128th cap, Ivan provided assists for Bruno Petkovic and Mario Pasalic as Croatia beat Latvia 5-0 in UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying in Rijeka. Ivan completed the 90 minutes. Croatia remain unbeaten in Group D, three points behind Turkey with two games in hand.

Yves picked up his 31st cap off the bench in the 62nd minute as Mali beat South Sudan 4-0 in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying and provided an incredible assist for the fourth goal for Nene Dorgeles, twisting and turning on the byline before squaring for Dorgeles to finish. That made it five wins out of six for Mali in Group G.

Elsewhere, young goalkeeper Josh Keeley was involved in a thriller as Republic of Ireland opened their UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifying campaign with a 3-2 win against Turkey in Cork. Josh played the full match as ROI trailed 2-1 with three minutes remaining, only to turn it around with goals from Zak Gilsenan and Aidomo Emakh in the sixth minute of added time.
