Modric on the 'blow' of losing Perisic to injury

Former Spur Luka Modric has spoken of the 'blow' felt by the Croatia national team following Ivan Perisic's ACL injury.
Last month, it was announced that Ivan would likely be sidelined for the rest of the season after he suffered a complex Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury in his right knee in non-contact training.
While the injury will see him out of action for us, it is will also keep him out the rest of Croatia's crucial qualifiers for Euro 2024.
Battling it ut in a highly competitive Group D, the Vatreni headed into this international break with just seven points collected from their opening four qualifiers, seeing them trail leaders Turkey by six points as they bid to reach their seventh European Championship finals.
And Luka, who became a fan favourite during his five years in north London (2008-2012), knows just how much of a miss Ivan will be for his nation.
"We are in contact. We have spoke to each other. It is a big blow for us. We know how much Ivan means to us," he said in a press conference ahead of Croatia's Euro 2024 qualifier against Turkey.
"However, knowing his character, his habits, I believe he will return in the right way. It is difficult to say when the most important thing is that he returns healthy. There is no need to hurry; we will wait for him as long as necessary."
