Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett have been selected to represent England at this year's FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
Hosted by Argentina, the youth tournament will be contested by 24 teams across four cities in the South American nation and kicks-off in nine days' time (Saturday 20 May) with Guatemala opening proceedings against New Zealand in Group A.
Our lads, who helped the England Under-19s win the European Championships last summer, will link up with their compatriots this weekend to begin their preparations for the competition.
Drawn into Group E alongside Uruguay, Iraq and Tunisia, the Young Lions begin their campaign on Monday 22 May as they take on Tunisia at the One-of-a-kind Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in La Plata. The venue for all three of their group stage matches, they will then face Uruguay there on Thursday 25 May before playing Iraq on Sunday 28 May (all 3pm kick-offs).
The group's top two sides will then progress to the Round of 16, while four of the best third place finishers from across all six groups will also reach the knockout stages.
This is England's first appearance at the Under-20 World Cup Finals since their victory at the 2017 edition in South Korea. We also had two representatives in the Three Lions' squad that year with Kyle Walker-Peters and Josh Onomah both selected. Rodrigo Bentancur was in action for Uruguay at the tournament.
