Everton boss Sean Dyche has confirmed that midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure will miss the trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm).
The midfielder has been a key player under Dyche, scoring 11 goals since he was appointed manager of the Toffees in January - with no other player scoring more - and six of those have come this season, currently the club’s leading goalscorer this season.
However, he was taken off in Everton’s 2-0 victory over Burnley before missing the midweek clash with Fulham in the Carabao Cup and he remains a doubt alongside defender Ashley Young, who has also been unavailable for the Toffees’ last two fixtures.
Dyche is hoping to have defender Vitali Mykolenko back available for the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while captain Seamus Coleman - who has only made one appearance this season - is “touch and go” over a return.
The Everton boss was asked about the return of Mykolenko in Thursday’s press conference, and said: “Mykolenko is back in the thinking. The other three, it's touch and go with Seamus - he needs a few more days of training. Young is making process but I don't think he will make this one, and Doucoure not for this one."
