Travel information for fans attending Tyson Fury v Derek Chisora

Wed 30 November 2022, 16:30|Tottenham Hotspur

Fans attending Saturday’s fight between Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are asked to please take note of the following travel information.

Due to planned major track works by Network Rail, White Hart Lane station, and the London Overground line it is served by, will be closed on the day of this event.

There are three alternative local stations that serve the stadium – Northumberland Park, Tottenham Hale and Seven Sisters – as well as an event day shuttle bus service from Wood Green station, providing access to London Underground and Greater Anglia services and TfL buses.

Fans are advised that the Victoria line is likely to be extremely busy before and after the fight.

The Piccadilly line is likely to be less busy and connects to the stadium via the free shuttle bus service at Wood Green, which offers a quicker route than using the Victoria line and walking from Seven Sisters. Greater Anglia services via Northumberland Park will also offer a quicker route to central London.

There is ample cycle parking around the stadium. Walking routes to and from the stadium to stations and coach parks are all clearly signposted. Stewards will also be on hand to answer any questions.

Wherever fans are travelling from, particularly if they have never been to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before, we recommend using this detailed travel advice and the information below to plan their journey in advance.

Planning your journey home

Fans are strongly advised to plan their journey home using the information provided and to have a secondary option if their first option is not possible. If the fight lasts 12 rounds, those who have long distances to travel via public transport may experience challenges with their journey and should plan their departure from the stadium accordingly.

Shuttle bus services will operate from Seven Sisters to Liverpool Street from 11.30pm, allowing fans to avoid the busy London Underground interchange at King’s Cross.

Stations

Information on the location and distances from the stadium to each of the stations serving the area can be found here.

Tottenham Hale

Tottenham Hale is a fully accessible station, served by Victoria line and Greater Anglia services. Greater Anglia platforms are fully accessible from the concourse, which has entry and exit ramps.

Fans using the Victoria line, including wheelchair users and those with limited mobility, are advised to use Tottenham Hale rather than Seven Sisters as it is a shorter journey to and from the stadium.

The last Greater Anglia trains to Liverpool Street will operate by way of Tottenham Hale station.

Northumberland Park

Scheduled engineering works on Greater Anglia services are taking place this weekend.

Six trains per hour will call at Northumberland Park in each direction throughout the day. Of these, two per hour will be from and to Stansted Airport, Hertford East and Cambridge respectively. All these trains will travel from and to London Liverpool Street and four trains per hour will also stop at Stratford.

Fans are advised to use Northumberland Park if using Greater Anglia services as it is a shorter distance to the stadium than Tottenham Hale.

After the event, fans are advised to walk directly to Northumberland Park and follow instructions from stewards for the quickest journey to onward destinations.

All train services are shown on www.nationalrail.co.uk.

Seven Sisters

Victoria line services will be operating every two to three minutes in both directions pre-event and up until 11:15pm. After that time the service frequency will reduce to every five to six minutes around midnight and every 10 minutes from 12:30am and throughout the night.

Supporters using the Victoria line are strongly advised to use Tottenham Hale rather than Seven Sisters as it is a shorter journey to the stadium.

A free shuttle bus service will be available from Seven Sisters station to Liverpool Street from 11:15pm.

Queue management

Queue management systems will be in place at all stations. Supporters are asked to respect and work with staff at our stations.

Shuttle Buses

The stadium’s Shuttle Bus service is operating from and to Wood Green station for Piccadilly line services and can be booked in advance here.

Elizabeth line

The Elizabeth line now operates through central London from Berkshire and west London to east London and Essex. Direct connections from Reading and Heathrow to Liverpool Street no longer require an interchange at Paddington.

Road Closures

Please note, our major event day road closure measures will be in place.

TFL buses

Prior to the event the W3 will follow its normal route but the 149, 259, 279 and 349 services will be diverted away from the High Road at least two hours before the main fight (expected to begin around 21:30).

Post-event, the TfL bus services will return to normal operation as soon as possible after the local road closures are lifted. More information on road closures can be found above.

Maps of bus routes can be found here.

TfL buses accept cashless payments only.

Cycling

For supporters wishing to cycle to the stadium, bike racks are available at Tottenham Community Sports Centre which is located on the High Road. Dedicated bicycle parking is also available on-street around the stadium.

Although our Bag Policy still applies, stewards will be briefed regarding cyclists’ need to carry helmets, puncture kits and removable seats into the stadium.

Maps of the Cycling Superhighway route and cycle parking can be found here.
