Spurs v Leicester - travel update for Sunday, including rail disruption

Fri 29 April 2022, 14:30|Tottenham Hotspur

Fans attending our home Premier League game against Leicester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (kick-off 2pm) are asked to take note of the following travel information, which includes possible disruption to London Overground services.

We recommend supporters familiarise themselves with TfL’s safer travel guidance, which includes a recommendation to wear a face covering while using the network.

Possible London Overground disruption

Travel to White Hart Lane station may be disrupted on Sunday due to London Overground driver availability. Supporters are advised to use alternative routes to and from the stadium including, for those able to, walking from Seven Sisters station.

Once available on Sunday, information regarding cancelled pre-match services will be sent to supporters by SMS. Information on post-match cancellations will be displayed on LED screens inside the stadium bowl.

Information on scheduled services will be available at the National Rail journey planner 24 hours before the match. Supporters can also obtain live cancellation information on the day by entering ‘White Hart Lane’ as their arrival station along with their departure station in the Live Arrivals section of the National Rail homepage.

National Rail disruption

Extensive track closures are in place between Cheshunt and Stansted Airport at the weekend, affecting Greater Anglia rail services. This includes Hertford East, Broxbourne, Harlow and Bishop’s Stortford stations. Rail replacement bus services will operate from all closed stations to and from Waltham Cross station.

Greater Anglia will operate six trains per hour in both directions between Liverpool Street and Cheshunt. All trains will stop at both Northumberland Park and Tottenham Hale for at least two hours before and after the game.

On Sunday there are no services between Stratford and Tottenham Hale/Northumberland Park due to engineering works. Supporters should allow an extra 30 minutes for their journey time via Liverpool Street.

Supporters are advised to plan their journeys in advance at www.nationalrail.co.uk.

Big Green Coach

Big Green Coach are operating coach services from the following locations: Aylesbury, Bedford, Bishop’s Stortford, Braintree, Brentwood, Broxbourne, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Colchester, Dartford, Gillingham, Harlow Town, Hemel Hempstead, Hertford, Hitchin, Hoddesdon, Luton, Maidenhead, Maidstone, Milton Keynes, Saffron Walden, Shefford, Slough, St Albans, Trumpington, Ware and Wycombe.

Stations - Tottenham Hale

The new station concourse at Tottenham Hale is now open, providing access to Greater Anglia and London Underground services via a single entrance for which a new queuing process will be in place. Work on the station interchange between the services is ongoing.

Tottenham Hale is now a fully accessible station. Access to the Victoria line and between London Underground and Greater Anglia services is now available following the refurbishment of a lift. Greater Anglia platforms are fully accessible from the concourse, which has entry and exit ramps.

Supporters using the Victoria line are advised to use Tottenham Hale rather than Seven Sisters as it is a shorter walk to and from the stadium.

White Hart Lane

Supporters are advised to note the information regarding possible travel disruption due to London Overground driver availability and use alternative routes to and from the stadium.

Supporters travelling on the Victoria line are advised to use Tottenham Hale or Seven Sisters and walk to the stadium if able.

Supporters travelling via Liverpool Street are advised to use Greater Anglia services to and from Northumberland Park.

Supporters travelling from Cheshunt are advised to use Greater Anglia services to Northumberland Park.

Scheduled TfL track closures

A number of scheduled track closures on the TfL network are taking place this Bank Holiday weekend, including on the Hammersmith and City, District and Bakerloo lines. The Hammersmith and City line is entirely closed. There are no Bakerloo line trains north of Stonebridge Park and no District line lines between Earl’s Court and Wimbledon. The London Overground service between Euston and Watford Junction is also closed on Sunday.

Queue management

Queue management systems will be in place at all stations. Supporters are asked to respect and work with staff at our stations.

TFL Buses

Prior to the match, the W3 will follow its normal route but the 149, 259, 279 and 349 services will be diverted away from the High Road at least two hours before the game. Supporters are advised to check for delays due to roadworks before traveling.

Cycling

For supporters wishing to cycle to the stadium, bike stands are available at Tottenham Community Sports Centre and St Francis de Sales School, which are both located on the High Road. Dedicated bicycle parking is also available on-street around the stadium.

Although our Bag Policy still applies, stewards will be briefed regarding cyclists’ need to carry helmets, puncture kits and removable seats into the stadium.

Shuttle Buses

The Club is operating its two Shuttle Bus services from both Alexandra Palace station (Great Northern line) and Wood Green station (Piccadilly line) to the stadium. Tickets are free but should be booked in advance.
