Tottenham Hotspur
We returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday with an emphatic 4-0 win over Leeds United.
Getting off to a great start in West Yorkshire, we flew into a 3-0 lead with just under half an hour played as Matt Doherty (10 minutes), Dejan Kulusevski (15) and Harry Kane (27) all found the back of the net. The hosts did have their chances as the game progressed, but we remained relatively in control of proceedings and went on to add a fourth in the final 10 minutes with Heung-Min Son firing home in style.
Here's a look at all the key numbers behind the game…
Highlights: Leeds United 4-0 Spurs
Just what the Doc-tor ordered
1 – Matt Doherty scored his first goal for the Club with his 10th-minute opener.
1 – It was Matt’s first goal in England’s top flight for almost two years having last scored in the competition for Wolves against Crystal Palace, in July, 2020.
1 – It was the first time the defender has been involved in 2+ goals in a single Premier League game since his debut in the competition in August, 2018.
3 – The Irishman has now been involved in three goals (one scored, two assisted) in his last five Premier League appearances.
Harry on song
9 – Harry Kane has been involved in nine goals (seven scored, two assisted) in his last 11 Premier League games.
2 – It was the seventh time he has been involved in 2+ goals in a single game this season – (three versus NS Mura and two versus Pacos de Ferreira, Newcastle, Leicester, Brighton, Manchester City and Leeds United).
11 – His strike against Leeds was his 11th goal since Antonio Conte was appointed manager – no Spurs player has scored more in that time.
11 – It was also Harry’s 11th top flight goal in Yorkshire – only Alan Shearer has scored more Premier League goals in the county.
4 – The forward has been involved in four goals (two scored, two assisted) in as many Premier League appearances against Leeds.
16 – He has played 16 through balls in this Premier League campaign so far – only Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes has produced more.
79 – Our number 10 has also attempted 79 shots in the competition – only Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has tried more.
Sonny continues to shine
10 – Heung-Min Son scored his 10th Premier League goal of the season. It is the sixth season in a row he has recorded double figures in the top flight.
80 – It was also his 80th goal to date in the competition.
11 – Sonny has now been involved in 11 goals (six scored, five assisted) in his last 11 Premier League games.
16 – He has been involved in 16 goals in the league in total this campaign (10 scored, six assisted).
4 – In his four appearances against Leeds, he has been involved in as many goals (three scored, one assisted).
Winning at Elland Road
7 - We have won seven of our last nine meetings (78 per cent) with Leeds in the Premier League (D1 L1).
18 - It was our first win at Elland Road in the Premier League for 18 years. Our last victory in West Yorkshire before Saturday’s triumph was back in January, 2004 (1-0).
12 - We have found the back of the net in each of our last 12 Premier League encounters with the Whites, scoring 24 goals in that time.
Other numbers
6 - Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg provided his ninth assist in our colours – six of those have come for Harry Kane goals (66 per cent).
50 - Half of Pierre’s Premier League goal involvements this season have come against Leeds (two – one scored, one assisted).
76 - Antonio Conte’s incredible Saturday record in the Premier League continued at Elland Road. Of all the managers to have taken charge of at least 10 games in the top flight since its rebrand in 1992, Antonio has the best win rate in games played on a Saturday (76 per cent - W29 D3 L6). He is yet to lose on a Saturday as our Head Coach.
37 - Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane combined for a goal in the Premier League for the 37th time on Saturday, breaking Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba's all-time record for goal contributions for a duo in the competition.
2 - Dejan Kulusevski scored his second goal for the Club in just his third Premier League start.
1 - Ryan Sessegnon provided his first Premier League assist for the Club. It was his first in the competition since April, 2019, when he assisted former side Fulham’s only goal of a 4-1 defeat to Watford.
