We returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 triumph over Wolves.
Harry Kane put us ahead on the stroke of half-time after he ran onto a defence-splitting pass from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg before rounding Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio and finishing. Hojbjerg then turned goalscorer on 62 minutes as he reacted quickest to the rebound from Gareth Bale’s parried strike to fire home from close range.
Here’s a look at the key numbers and statistics from the game...
Kane in charge
35 - Harry Kane has now been involved in 35 goals in the Premier League this season (22 goals, 13 assists). Only Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi have contributed to more goals in Europe’s top five leagues this term.
9 - Harry has hit the woodwork nine times this season in the Premier League. Since 2003/04, only one player has hit the woodwork more times than our number 10 in a single campaign (Robin van Persie with 10 in 2011/12).
55 - Since the start of the 2019/20 season, no player has contributed to more goals in the Premier League than Harry (55 - 40 goals, 15 assists).
198 - The England skipper has now been involved in 198 goals (165 goals, 33 assists) for us in just 240 Premier League appearances.
1 - He currently remains top of both the goals (22 - joint with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah) and assists (13) tables in the Premier League.
Pierre’s prowess
1 - Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg both scored and assisted in a Premier League match for the first time in his career.
3 - He is the third Danish Spurs player to have scored and assisted in a top-flight game for us after Allan Nielsen and Christian Eriksen.
94 - The midfielder enjoyed a 94 per cent pass success rate, completing 81 out of the 86 passes he attempted, while he also had the most touches of the ball of any player on the pitch with 102.
10 - The Dane recovered the ball 10 times in the game and won six duels.
Wolves unpacked
10 - It was our first home win against Wolves in over a decade - we last defeated the West Midlands outfit in N17 back in September, 2010.
10 - We have now scored in each of our last 10 encounters with Wanderers.
0 - With victory on Sunday, we continued an historic record of having never drawn both of our league meetings with Wolves in a single campaign.
Home comforts
13 - We had 13 shots on target against Wolves - the most we’ve had in a single Premier League game since May, 2017, when we defeated Hull City 7-1 (14). It was the most shots on target Wolves have faced in a top-flight game since February, 2012.
3 - Ryan Mason became the first Spurs manager since Harry Redknapp to win each of his first three home games.
6 - We have now won six of our last seven outings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
