Jose Mourinho is looking for a reaction at Villa today (7.30pm).
It’s been a tough week with defeat in the north London derby followed by elimination from the UEFA Europa League at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday night.
We were in fine form before that, however, with five straight wins including three on the spin in the Premier League. If we get back on track at Villa Park, we’ll climb up to sixth, three points behind Chelsea in fourth.
“I look for a reaction, obviously,” said Jose at Villa Park. “Two bad performances, two bad results, I feel like we need a change, we need positivity, fresh minds and two 16-year-old kids on the bench to prove we look to the future too, and if they have to play, they play, no problem with that. At the same time, of course, we think about the opponent, the qualities of our opponent, and their potential.
“Of course we’ve had meetings, of course we share meetings. The club is full of good people and the dressing room has lots of good people, so it’s not about that, but I think a change of mentality, the way you look at the principles of being the very privileged men that we are, doing the job we love.”
