A professional and determined display in Budapest saw us to a 4-1 victory over Wolfsberger AC in the first leg of our Europa League round of 32 tie on Thursday.
Goals in the first half from Heung-Min Son, Gareth Bale and Lucas Moura put us three ahead at the break before the home side pulled one back from the penalty spot just 10 minutes into the second period, through Michael Liendl. However, late on, we restored our three-goal advantage through an instinctive finish from Carlos Vinicius to see us bring back a commanding lead to north London ahead of Wednesday’s return leg.

10 – Ben Davies completed the full 90 minutes against Wolfsberger, as he has done in all 10 of our Europa League fixtures so far this season. He is the only player in the squad to have been ever-present for us in this term's European campaign to date.

7 – On target in Budapest, Heung-Min Son has now been involved in seven goals in his eight Europa League appearances for us this season (four goals, three assists).
30 – In total, it is 30 goal involvements in all competitions for the South Korean international after just 35 games this campaign (18 goals, 12 assists) - that matches his account for the entire 2019/20 season in which he played six games more.
4 – In four of his six seasons at the Club, Sonny has now registered 30 goal involvements (2016/17, 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21) – he has never managed more than that in a single campaign with us.
13 – Our number seven has now been involved in 13 goals in just 17 Europa League matches for us since moving to north London in the summer of 2015 (seven goals, six assists).
16 – In his last 18 games in Europe, he has now been involved in 16 goals (12 goals, four assists).

10 – It is now 10 goal involvements for the Brazilian in all competitions (seven goals, three assists) this season after 16 appearances.
73 – He is averaging a goal or assist every 73 minutes in all competitions this term. In the Europa League alone, it is a goal involvement every 53 minutes.
Other notable numbers
7 – Lucas Moura has now been involved in seven goals in his 10 Europa League appearances this season (five goals, two assists).
1 - In setting up Carlos Vinicius’ goal, Erik Lamela recorded his first assist of the season.
8 – It is now eight goal involvements for the Argentine in his last 13 Europa League appearances (seven goals, one assist).
2 years, 3 months – Gareth Bale produced a goal and an assist in the same game for the first time in two years and three months – he last did so for Real Madrid in a 5-0 Champions League win over Viktoria Plzeň in November, 2018.
4 – Gareth also created more chances (4) and made more tackles (4) than any other Spurs player in the game.
