App exclusive: The game in numbers - Wolves 1-1 Spurs

Mon 28 December 2020, 16:57|Tottenham Hotspur

On Sunday night, we took a point from our trip to Molineux as we drew 1-1 with Wolves in the Premier League.

We made a lightning-quick start to the game as we were ahead within the first minute thanks to Tanguy Ndombele's arrowed strike from distance. However, we were made to share the spoils come full-time as the hosts scored an 86th-minute equaliser through Romain Saiss.

Here’s a look at some of the key statistics and numbers behind the game...

Creative outlet Ben

2 – It is now two direct goal involvements in as many games for Ben Davies after he followed up his long-range strike in Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Stoke with the assist for Tanguy Ndombele’s goal against Wolves.

5 - Ben has now been directly involved in five goals for us this season (four assists, one goal). That’s three more than in his last two seasons combined and his best return for us since a total of eight in 2017/18.

2 – No Spurs man played more key passes in the game than Ben (2) – joint with Tanguy Ndombele.

Player in focus - Tanguy Ndombele

1- Tanguy Ndombele's strike was his first league goal for us since scoring the equaliser at Old Trafford in our 6-1 win at the start of October.

1 – It was also Tanguy's first goal from outside the box since his debut strike against Aston Villa in August, 2019.

57 - At 57 seconds, the 24-year-old's opener was our quickest goal in a game so far this season.

3 - All of Tanguy’s goals for us last season came at home (2). So far this campaign, they’ve all come away from home (3).

2 – No Spurs player completed more take-ons than our number 28 (2).

100 – The Frenchman won 100 per cent of his tackles – 2/2 – only Matt Doherty completed more in a Spurs shirt (4).

Defensive lines

0 – Eric Dier was not dribbled past at all in the game.

6 – Eric also made six clearances in the game – more than any other player on the pitch.

5 – No player on the pitch won more aerial challenges than Harry Kane (5).

100 – Matt Doherty won 100 per cent of his tackles, winning the ball in all four of the challenges that he attempted.

3 – Matt also made the most interceptions of any Spurs player in the game with three.

Other notable numbers

100 - Harry Winks made his 100th Premier League appearance for us.

4 - Tanguy Ndombele's strike was the quickest goal from outside the box in a Premier League game for over four years after Kenedy’s effort for Chelsea against Norwich in March, 2016.

11 - We scored our 11th Premier League goal in the opening minute of a match since the competition began in 1992 - only Chelsea (12) have scored more first-minute Premier League goals.

5 -  We are now unbeaten in our last five trips to Molineux and have lost just one of our last 10 visits.
