All eyes are back at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as we take on Everton in the Women’s Super League looking to return to winning ways on home soil.
Our first trip to N17 last month saw us put in an inspired performance against champions Chelsea but we were left to rue missed chances in the first half, with the Blues running out 2-0 winners in the end.
Despite the disappointing result against our local rivals, it was our first defeat at home in the league since September – a 5-0 loss to Manchester City – and we still maintain the third-best home record in England’s top flight, with 16 of our 29 points coming in front of our Lilywhite fanbase.
In fact, there’s plenty of records on the line at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend when we take on the Toffees.
Sitting on 29 points on our return from the international break, a victory against the Merseyside club would see us match our record points tally in a single WSL season (32 points achieved in the 2021/22 campaign) with still five games left to play.
Having scored for Denmark on international duty, Olivia Holdt will be looking to continue her excellent run of form which has seen her rack up six goal involvements in her last seven WSL appearances (three goals and three assists).
Taking over as Everton's interim Head Coach at the beginning of last month, Scott Phelan has guided the Toffees to back-to-back victories in his first two games – three in a row in the WSL – and has seen nominated for the league’s Manager of the Month award.
Winning three in a row in the league has seen the Merseyside club rise to eighth in the table, on 17 points, as they created an eight-point gap with bottom-placed side Leicester City as we head into the final stages of the season.
Here are some other headline pre-match facts, courtesy of Opta, ahead of the clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium:
-
We are unbeaten in their last five WSL games against Everton (W2 D3) and could complete a double over the Toffees for the first time in the competition.
-
The team scoring first have never lost in the 13 Women’s Super League meetings between Everton (W5 D3) and us (W3 D2).
-
Everton have won each of their last three league games and could record four consecutive victories in the Women’s Super League for the first time since winning their opening four fixtures of the 2020-21 campaign, which included a 1-0 win over us.
-
We have won the most points against the current bottom six teams in the WSL this season (27), with each of our nine wins coming against such sides (P10 W9 L1); meanwhile Everton are the only team currently in the bottom half that can boast multiple wins against top half sides in 2025-26 (vs Chelsea and London City Lionesses).
-
Three of Everton’s five league wins this season have come via a 1-0 scoreline, including their last two. The Toffees have only kept three or more consecutive clean sheets in the WSL twice before, in July 2011 (4) and October 2020 (3).
-
In Cathinka Tandberg (six), Bethany England (five) and Olivia Holdt (five), this is already the first Women’s Super League campaign in which three different Tottenham Hotspur players have scored five or more goals.
-
Across the last three matchdays, we have recorded the most shots in the WSL (70), taking 28 vs West Ham on MD14 and 27 in our 7-3 win against Aston Villa last time out. Prior to this, we had never recorded more than 26 shots in any of their 137 Women’s Super League matches.
