Five stunning goals against Everton in the WSL

Fri 13 March 2026, 19:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Our return to Women’s Super League action sees us take on Everton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday – a fixture that has seen plenty of drama throughout the years in England’s top flight.

Ahead of our clash with the Toffees at our world-famous stadium in N17, here are five of the best we’ve scored in our previous meetings…

Emma Mitchell – Spurs 2-2 Everton - February, 2020

Our first-ever fixture with the Merseyside club in the WSL saw us stage a stunning comeback at The Hive, with Emma Mitchell on hand to score a wonderful 30-yard free-kick.

Chloe Kelly handed Everton the lead, lashing the ball into the far corner from the edge of the box, to capitalise on a strong first half in north London before they picked up where they left off after the break, Inessa Kaagman doubling their advantage with a similar strike.

However, we sparked back into life when Angela Addison headed home from Ria Percival’s cross for her first WSL goal, but we were handed a massive blow when Rosella Ayane was shown a red card in the final quarter of the game.

That didn’t discourage us, though, and in fact only motivated Mitchell to produce a moment of sheer magic to snatch a point. The left-back let fly from the resulting free-kick, firing an outstanding shot into the top corner from 30 yards out to level the scores just 12 minutes from time.

Gemma Davinson – Spurs 2-3 Everton - February, 2021

While this ended in defeat on the day – just our second loss at home at the time – Gemma Davinson produced a fantastic run to grab an equaliser.

Finding ourselves two-nil down after two penalties from Valerie Gauvin, Addison was a thorn in Everton’s side once again, halving the deficit ahead of the break with a composed chipped finish over Sandy MacIver.

With the momentum in our favour, we netted the leveller just before the hour mark as Davinson won possession in the middle of the park and created some space before capping off a fantastic run by unleashing a strike from the edge of the area into the back of the net.

However, our efforts were undone four minutes later when Jill Scott reinstated Everton’s lead to earn them the victory in the end.

Jess Naz – Spurs 1-0 Everton - December, 2021

Our clash with Everton in December, 2021, turned out to be a memorable occasion for us.

Having failed to beat them in our previous encounters in the WSL, Jess Naz’s smart finish in the second half turned out to be the difference and secure our first victory over the Toffees in the top flight.

Following a goalless first 45 minutes at The Hive, despite a strong display during that, we eventually found the breakthrough six minutes after the restart. Rachel Williams was the creator, spotting the run of Jess down the left and she did the rest, cleverly clipping the ball into the top right-hand corner from an angle.

Olga Ahtinen – Everton 0-2 Spurs - September, 2025

Fast forward nearly four seasons later and it brings us to our reverse fixture at Goodison Park earlier in the campaign.

Let’s start with our opener on Merseyside and the focus is certainly on the build-up play leading to Olga Ahtinen’s composed finish from the inside the box.

Starting with the Finland international winning possession on the edge of the box, the ball then fell to Cathinka Tandberg who played a clever flick back to Olga in the area and she calmly slotted home into the bottom corner.

Then, what followed later in the game was very special from Tinka.

Cathinka Tandberg – Everton 0-2 Spurs - September, 2025

Making her first full start for the Club and in the WSL, the Norway international produced an outrageous strike at the home of Everton to open her account in Lilywhite.

Receiving the ball from just outside the centre circle and spotting goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan off her line, Tinka sent a wonderful lob over the back-peddling Toffees’ number one and into the back of the net to double our advantage shortly after the break.

At the other end, we remained defensively resilient to preserve back-to-back clean sheets in the WSL at the time and earn our first win against Everton in seven previous attempts.
