Despite our aggregate defeat and ultimate exit to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night, our formidable home record in Europe was extended.

Looking to overturn our 5-2 defeat in the Spanish capital last Tuesday, we fell just short in north London with a 3-2 win over Atleti not enough to see us progress.

However, while it wasn't enough to see us through on the night, it was a performance full of heart, desire and pride which had our Spurs faithful giving the team a standing ovation come full-time.

Meanwhile, it also extended our run of home games without defeat in Europe to 25.

We have now won our last six home games in Europe on the spin while the two goals we conceded to Atleti were the first we had conceded at home in Europe this season.

Since a 1-0 UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg loss to RB Leipzig in February, 2020 - almost six years ago - we have not tasted defeat in a home European game.

In that time, we have faced 25 games in Europe - 13 in the Europa League, nine in the Champions League and three in the Europa Conference League with a record of won 21 and drawn four.

We have scored 68 goals in that time and conceded just 15 goals while we have kept 15 clean sheets along the way.
