Bruno Saltor said it feels like ‘every small detail, every small mistake, we get penalised’ as we suffered a 3-0 defeat against Forest in the Premier League on Sunday.

Fans lined the streets to welcome the team coach to the stadium and, after positive results against Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, it felt like the stage was set for a big afternoon at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It wasn’t to be though. After early pressure and hitting the woodwork, Forest crucially struck first in the final minute of the first half through Igor Jesus’ header from a corner.

We hit the woodwork again – Mathys Tel denied by Matz Selz – but Forest doubled their lead just after the hour through Morgan Gibbs-White and victory was secured for the visitors by substitute Taiwo Awoniyi two minutes from time.

Speaking to us in Igor Tudor’s absence, Assistant Head Coach Bruno said: “First of all, I want to say that obviously Igor is not here and I'm here because he's got family issues, family matters, that we have to respect.

“We had a really good first half, but right now, every small detail, every small mistake, we're getting penalised by it. I thought we created enough chances in the first half to go in front and in this difficult moment, sometimes it's difficult to come back from those mistakes.

“I think in these situations, when something goes against you, it gets harder. When you're in a good moment, when the legs, they're fresh and they're flying, it's like, okay, you can see the goal and you go. Then, sometimes the task just becomes really difficult after conceding a goal, especially after being really good in the first half.

“I think right now, as a family, as a club, as today the fans have shown, they were incredible. It's one of the best experiences I've had in 25 years as a professional in professional football. It was emotional getting to a stadium.

“The fans, they've been with us from the first minute to the last minute. When challenges and problems come in a family, what you do is get closer to each other. That's what we're trying to do in the changing room, get that connection, get everyone together because all of us, we want the same.”
