West Ham vs Spurs (WSL) | Key stats | England’s record against the Hammers

Fri 30 January 2026, 13:30|Tottenham Hotspur

Bethany England will be hoping to continue her impressive Women’s Super League record against West Ham United when we make the trip to Chigwell Construction Stadium on Sunday (kick-off 11.55am).

Becoming a Lilywhite in January, 2023, our captain has scored more goals in the WSL against the Hammers than any other player – 10 in total – with five of those coming for us.

Her last strike over our London rivals came in the season opener back in September, where she showed composure to net a late penalty to secure a 1-0 win at Brisbane Road.

With five goals to her name this campaign in all competitions, the joint-highest in our goalscoring charts with Olivia Holdt, our number nine certainly loves a London derby as she’s the all-time top goalscorer in those fixtures in the WSL, finding the back of the net on 18 occasions to date.

Back on the road once again in the WSL, we’ll be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s heartbreak in Liverpool where two stoppage-time goals from Mia Enderby condemned us to a 2-0 defeat on Merseyside.

Having faced the Hammers in 13 meetings in England’s top flight, we have come out on top in seven of those, but our last trip to Chigwell Construction Stadium in March, 2025, saw us suffer a 2-0 loss – our first to the Hammers in five games in the competition.

Rita Guarino’s side do come into the London derby this weekend on the back off an important 2-1 victory at Leicester City – just their second league victory of the campaign – but remain one point ahead of bottom-side Liverpool.

Here are some other headline pre-match facts, courtesy of Opta, ahead of the London derby:

  • Following their 2-1 victory over Leicester City last time out on MD13, West Ham United are seeking to win successive Women’s Super League matches for the first time since January/February, 2024.

  • West Ham United have lost each of their last five WSL London derbies, since a 7-1 victory over Crystal Palace in April last year. Indeed, the Hammers have suffered more London derby defeats than any other side in the competition (34, ahead of us – 25).

  • West Ham United manager Rita Guarino achieved her first ever victory in the Women’s Super League last time out in what was her second game in the competition (P2 W1 L1), with no Hammers boss ever winning two of their opening three WSL matches.

  • West Ham United manager Rita Guarino achieved her first ever victory in the Women’s Super League last time out in what was her second game in the competition (P2 W1 L1), with no Hammers boss ever winning two of their opening three WSL matches. Indeed, Matt Beard is the only previous West Ham manager to avoid defeat in two of their first three (W1 D1 L1).

  • We have outperformed their Expected Points (xP) by the biggest margin in the Women’s Super League this season (16.7 xP, 23 points, +6.3), while Spurs also have the joint-highest overperformance of their expected goals against figure (xGA) in the competition (22.8 xGA, 18 goals conceded, +4.8 – alongside Chelsea).
