Dominic Solanke has been added to our UEFA Champions League squad ahead of Tuesday’s fixture against Borussia Dortmund, confirmed Thomas Frank.

Included in the initial 25-player List A, the striker has not featured in Europe this term after an early season ankle injury ruled him out for four months until his comeback off the bench against Aston Villa on 10 January.

The 28-year-old then came on just after the hour mark against West Ham last time out as he works his way back to full fitness.

Dom was replaced by Mathys Tel in the Champions League squad prior to the Slavia Prague game on 9 December and, as per UEFA rules, has been reinstated in place of Mathys for the remainder of the league phase.

Talking about the change in the pre-Dortmund press conference, Thomas said: "I’ve made the decision, it was not a nice decision to make, that’s football so you have to make a decision.

"The way the rules are, the only option was it was either Dom or Matty in the squad, I chose Dom. I think Matty has done very well the last couple of games, that’s the crazy thing.

"If I could pick from all the players that are fit, he would start tomorrow. But I can only pick between the two of them and now he’s out of the squad. That’s, of course, a tough one to take for Matty."
