Souza describes signing for Spurs as 'an incredible feeling'.

The Brazil youth international, 19, signed from Santos on a long-term contract on Wednesday and will wear the number 38 shirt.

Snapped up by Santos aged just six, Souza earned a regular place in the team in 2025, racking up 24 appearances in Brazil's top flight, Serie A.

A member of Brazil's squad for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup, the full-back is now ready for a new chapter on and off the field in the Premier League.

"It’s a really incredible feeling, a unique feeling, to join Spurs," he said. "It’s a childhood dream. It’s a really big club, a unique club. It’s a big challenge to play in the Premier League.

"Like all Brazilian fans, I follow the Premier League. I’ve watched it since I was little. Like I said, it’s a dream to be playing in the Premier League.

"It’s a different style of football, it’s different from the Brazilian style. There’s more possession of the ball, it’s different technically. It’s going to be a real challenge for me.

"I’m really looking forward to life here. I want to discover new things, a new country. I’m looking forward to everything, and I can’t wait to start playing."

Asked for his immediate targets in Lilywhite, Souza told us: "My first aim is to start playing and to perform well in matches and help the team win."
