Thomas Frank reports that Joao Palhinha is closing in on fitness as we prepare to face Burnley in the Premier League at Turf Moor on Saturday (3pm UK).

The Portugal international midfielder has missed our last two matches against West Ham and Borussia Dortmund with an injury picked up in training last week.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Thomas said: "Joao is progressing, could be close for Burnley, that could be a tight one."

Meanwhile, the news was positive on Xavi Simons, Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie in terms of being available for Turf Moor. Xavi took a heavy tackle against West Ham on Saturday, but declared himself ready to face Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night and completed a full shift in our 2-0 win.

Dominic came in for his first start of the season - his last start against Brighton in May - against Borussia Dortmund, and marked his UCL debut with his first UCL goal, playing 70 minutes. Destiny, meanwhile, also started against Borussia Dortmund having not featured since 2 December.

Thomas said: "Dominic, Destiny and Xavi all got through Borussia Dortmund. Today has been about extra recovery time for various reasons - all three should be available for Burnley."

Conor Gallagher, Yves Bissouma, Radu Dragusin and Mathys Tel are available after being ineligible for Tuesday's UCL win against Borussia Dortmund. Micky van de Ven is also back after missing the Borussia Dortmund game through suspension. Ben Davies, Richarlison, James Maddison, Mo Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur remain sidelined.
