Our Under-21s make their long-awaited return to Premier League 2 action with a first-ever trip to Burnley tonight (Friday 16 January, kick-off 7pm UK) – and you’ll be able to watch the action live on SPURSPLAY!
Due to the way the league calendar has been constructed this season and with last week’s home match against West Ham having been postponed, we haven’t had a competitive Under-21 fixture since the 1-1 draw at Fulham at the start of November.
Wayne Burnett’s side have played a number of training ground friendlies in the intervening period, but it’s set to be a welcome return to domestic duties tonight in what will be the first time we’ve ever met Burnley at Under-21 level.
It’ll complete something of an history Academy double-header this season, with our Under-18s having also faced the Clarets in a competitive fixture for the first time in November, running out 2-1 winners at their training ground in the group stage of the Under-18 Premier League Cup.
Tonight’s match will be held at the Lancashire FA County Ground, with kick-off at 7pm.
