Special edition pre-match top designed to celebrate Lunar New Year 2026 released

Tue 10 February 2026, 09:00|Tottenham Hotspur

As part of our Lunar New Year celebrations, we have unveiled a special edition pre-match top designed by a Chinese artist to mark the Year of the Horse.

The shirt, unveiled in collaboration with NIKE, will be worn by our Men’s First-Team in the warm-up for this evening’s fixture against Newcastle and by our Women’s First-Team in the warm-up against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Lunar New Year is celebrated across east and southeast Asia on Tuesday 17 February. The horse, this year’s zodiac symbol, represents freedom, energy and determination, with the shirt design embodying those values alongside nods to the Club’s identity.

In the style of traditional line drawing, the intricate mane patterns across the shirt echo the motion of a horse in full sprint and symbolise its raw energy and momentum.

A large silhouette of our iconic club crest features on the back, with sponsor logos brought to the fore on the front of the shirt in a striking gold hue.

There are four subtle ‘Easter Eggs’ hidden within the design honouring the history of the Club, including outlines of the THFC Monogram and the text ‘N17’ – representing the Club’s North London postcode. A QR code is also featured on the shirt that links to exclusive video content.

The design of the shirt was created by Shanghai based artist Luna, who specialises in portraying themes of nature and wildlife mythology. Her creative process is detailed in an accompanying film produced by Shanghai based creative agency, Royal Club, which the Club has released today on our channels.

Luna said: “I’m truly honoured to share my hopes and blessings for the Year of the Horse through this initiative, passing that energy to the players and fans. For me, it also feels like a powerful, motivating start to the year.”

Duncan Pass, Merchandise & Licensing Director, Tottenham Hotspur said: “We are incredibly proud of the diversity of our fanbase, and celebrating cultural moments that matter deeply to our supporters across the world throughout the year is something that is extremely important to us. Lunar New Year is a time of reflection, renewal, and hope for many of our fans across Asia – as well as right here in the UK – and we are honoured to share in that celebration with the release of a special edition shirt, worn by both our Men’s and Women’s teams ahead of huge matches this week – bringing this cultural moment onto the biggest stage possible.”
