Opposition team news | Late fitness tests for Gordon and Miley, Joelinton ruled out

Mon 09 February 2026, 17:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Newcastle United duo Anthony Gordon and Lewis Miley face late fitness tests ahead of tomorrow's clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The pair have both been on the sidelines recently for the Magpies through injury - Miley since their UEFA Champions League to Paris Saint-Germain last month while Gordon was forced off in their Carabao Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City last week - but Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has not ruled out the duo featuring against us on Tuesday night with late checks being made on both players.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon, Howe said, "(Lewis) Miley... I need to see today - we'll get another update on his progress (later). He got a nasty bang to his leg so it's like a sort of dead leg that's dragged on a little bit longer than we thought, so we'll see how he is.

"(Anthony) Gordon... we'll make a check on (him) today and see how he's progressing. Hopefully (there's) a big improvement in him."

However, Newcastle will certainly be without Joelinton, Tino Livramento and Fabian Schar, who all remain out through injury.
