Thomas Frank provided an injury update on defensive trio Kevin Danso, Micky van de Ven and Djed Spence on Sunday.
All three unfortunately missed our 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Sunday and Thomas explained the reasons why in an exclusive chat with SPURSPLAY ahead of the game.
He revealed that Micky, who was also absent from our midweek win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League, was unlucky not to feature in the draw with City but expects the centre back to return next Saturday as we travel to Manchester United in the Premier League.
He could not be as certain on the situation of Kevin though. He reported that the defender had 'snapped' a ligament in his big toe having hyper-extended in the midweek victory in Frankfurt and thus missed the clash with City. The Austria international will now be assessed this week to determine the extent of the injury.
Djed meanwhile has picked up a calf injury so was unavailable to take on the Citizens. Our Head Coach is hopeful the full-back won't be out for too long.
Thomas Frank said, "Micky is a minor one. I fully expect him to be available for Man United, he just couldn't make it for this game unfortunately.
"Kevin, another, I think quite unlucky one. He hyper-extended his big toe when he landed on the foot of an opponent against Frankfurt, that means the ligament snapped in the big toe. It's extremely unlucky, we don't know the length of it but we have an appointment next week where we can clarify that and Djed has a minor calf injury. I hope Djed is not too long (out)."
