Abbott loaned to Mansfield

George Abbott has joined League One side Mansfield Town on loan for the remainder of the season.

A product of our Academy, the 20-year-old defensive midfielder spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Wycombe Wanderers, making 15 appearances and scoring once in all competitions.

Having made his Premier League debut for us at Leeds United on the last day of the 2022/23 season, he won the Under-17 and Under-18 Premier League Cup double with our Academy before captaining our Under-21s to the Premier League 2 title in 2023/24.

He enjoyed a full season on loan at Notts County last term, scoring six goals in 44 games, and now links up with fellow Academy product Oliver Irow at Mansfield for the rest of 2025/26.
