Reiss Elliott-Parris scored on his international debut in the early hours of Wednesday morning, but it wasn’t enough for his Guyana Under-20 side to avoid defeat against Curaçao.
With the host nation leading 3-1 in Willemstad, the 18-year-old forward peeled away at the back post to get to a deep free-kick and convert from close range in the 90th minute, pulling it back to 3-2.
Unfortunately for Reiss, there wasn’t enough time for his side to find an equaliser and that’s how it finished in what was Guyana’s opening 2026 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship qualifier.
The tournament will identify six qualifying nations for the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship later this year.
