Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Rodrigo Bentancur and Guglielmo Vicario are not ready to face Sunderland on Sunday.

Goalkeeper 'Vic' recently underwent surgery on a hernia while midfielder Rodri is training with the squad and closing in on fitness after surgery on his hamstring in January.

Speaking to the media at his pre-Sunderland press conference on Friday, Roberto reported: "Vicario is not ready for this game. I hope he comes back earlier next week, but I don't know yet. Bentancur is working with us, but not completely, but we are enough to fight, to play and to make points."

We revealed on Thursday that Mo Kudus had suffered a setback on his recovery from a quad issue suffered in January. He will remain sidelined for the Stadium of Light alongside James Maddison, Deki Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert and Ben Davies.
