Welcome back to '60 seconds on...' a new match preview where we'll tap into the knowledge of the people who know our opponents inside out.
Next up, a trip south to the Amex Stadium to take on Brighton on Saturday (3pm) and that meant a quick call to Andy Naylor - @AndyNaylorBHAFC - Brighton correspondent at The Athletic, who has been covering the Seagulls since the late 1980s...
Q1: What have you made of Brighton's start? It feels like they could have more points in the bag - is that fair?
Andy: "That is certainly true of the first two games. They conceded a very late equaliser at home to Fulham on the opening day and had chances before Everton scored in the 2-0 away defeat. They also missed the penalty at 2-0 that game, which would have put them back in contention. The flip side is that Manchester City could have been out of sight if Haaland had his finishing boots on before they came back from 1-0 down to beat them 2-1 at the Amex. The 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth was a tight game. They were a little unlucky to lose in the opening quarter of the contest both Jack Hinshelwood and Maxim De Cuyper through injuries, but they only had themselves to blame for Bournemouth's penalty winner after getting level."
What are the expectations this season?
Andy: "To be in the top 10 and pushing for Europe again, having finished eighth to miss out narrowly in Fabian Hurzeler's first season in charge."
Does the win against City underline that Brighton are capable of beating anyone again this season?
Andy: "It's not just the result against City that underlines that - gone are the days when Brighton were just looking to stay in the Premier League, which was the case in the seasons immediately after promotion in 2016/17. They have regularly achieved results both home and away against the so-called 'big six' in recent seasons. As, of course, Tottenham discovered to their cost twice last season."
Any of the new signings particularly caught your eye?
Andy: "It has to be Maxim De Cuyper in terms of the new signings catching the eye, since he is the only one to have started games in the Premier League and had regular minutes so far! He is an attack minded left-back, but an injury sustained in the first half against Bournemouth has interrupted his early momentum."
Are you seeing anything different tactically from Fabian Hurzeler?
Andy: "Tactically, nothing significantly different so far from Hurzeler. He's go-to formation is 4-2-3-1 and that has remained the case, despite the fact that he played with three centre-backs at his former club, St Pauli. The emphasis is still on high intensity, both in and out of possession, and he does not hold back on making multiple substitutions. That was a feature of last season and it's continued early on this season. It was a quadruple substitution after an hour, which helped to turn the match against City."
Who would be Brighton's 'one to watch'?
Andy: "Based on early season formed, the one to watch is Yankuba Minteh, the Gambian right winger has caught the eye both with and without the ball in terms of his defensive discipline and his threat to the opponents in the final third of the pitch."
This game has had a bit of everything over the years - what are you expecting this time around?
Andy: "It certainly has had a bit of everything over the years, usually lots of goals and shifts in momentum. That has also been the case quite often when Thomas Frank was in charge of Brentford in matches against Brighton, although two of his last three games were 0-0 draws, so, perhaps on this occasion, there will there will be fewer goals than normal."
