Ella Morris stunning maiden campaign in our colours has been recognised by being nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League Rising Star award, while Molly Bartrip is shortlisted for Player Champion of Change award.
The young defender, 22, saw her first half of the campaign disrupted by injuries but, following her return to action in February from a MCL injury, Ella has been a shining light in the WSL.
Since returning for the north London derby at Emirates Stadium in February, the England youth international has started our last seven games in the WSL, completing every single minute in that run, while she also netted her first goal for the Club and in the WSL last month, coming in the game against Aston Villa.
Her impressive performances in her maiden campaign for the Club saw her pick up our Junior Supporters’ Player of the Season award.
Ella is up against Brighton & Hove Albion pair Kiko Seike & Michelle Agyemang, Chelsea’s Aggie Beever-Jones, Manchester United’s Grace Clinton, Liverpool’s Olivia Smith and West Ham United’s Shekiera Martinez.
Meanwhile, Molly Bartrip’s work in mental health awareness has seen her nominated in the Player Champion of Change category.
Our number five is nominated alongside Crystal Palace’s Fliss Gibbons, West Ham United’s Katrina Gorry, Southampton’s Megan Collett, Manchester United’s Phallon Tullis-Joyce and Leicester City’s Sophie Howard.
The winner of the two categories will be announced on Sunday 11 May at the inaugural Women’s Professional Game Awards Ceremony.
