Women’s Under-16s reach PGA Plate semi-final

Wed 17 December 2025, 09:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Our Women’s Under-16s have reached the Professional Game Academy League Plate semi-final after penalty shootout success over Bristol City in the previous round.

Despite a goalless draw at home to the Robins the quarter-final last Saturday, we overcame the visitors on penalties to win 4-2 in the shootout and secure our spot in the last four of the competition.

We’ll face Newcastle United at home in the semi-finals, with Leicester City and Liverpool competing in the other tie.

Clementine Thomas, Ruby Leathers, Lexi Withey and Riley Jannese all found the back of the net in the shootout before goalkeeper Cassie Shield produced a significant save to save the Robins’ third spot-kick to secure our place in the semi-final.

Reflecting on their progression to the last four of the competition, Head Coach Matheus Scapin said: "It was a resilient, disciplined performance and a strong team mentality were key to progressing in a competitive quarter-final.

“Our girls showed great aggression without the ball and the group attempted well to execute the plan we have been working on. Time to reflect well during this Christmas break and prepare the team for the semi-final."
