Alfie Devine strikes late but it's not enough for Preston

Alfie Devine struck late as Preston North End suffered a 2-1 loss against Wrexham in the Championship on Monday evening.

The forward went close twice before hitting the target on 84 minutes, latching onto a flick from Michael Smith before driving into the box and firing home. However, the home side were already 2-0 up through Nathan Broadhead and Ollie Rathbone and held on for victory.

That was Alfie's fourth goal of the campaign and Preston now sit just outside the play-off places in seventh.
