Tottenham HotspurWe’re delighted to announce that Jun’ai Byfield has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The young defender, who turned 17 on Saturday, has been with us since the age of eight and has progressed through the ranks to become a regular for our Under-21s this season, despite technically being an Under-18s player in his first year of full-time football.
Last term, Jun’ai played frequently for our Under-18s despite still being a schoolboy and captained us to Under-17 Premier League Cup glory in April.
A striker in his younger days, the centre-half featured for the first team in pre-season and has been named as a substitute in six senior competitive matches so far this term, including the UEFA Super Cup in Udine.
On the international stage, he has represented England up to Under-18 level to date.
