Vicario shortlisted for Save of the Month award

Guglielmo Vicario’s heroics have been recognised after he was shortlisted for the Premier League’s Save of the Month award for September.

Our Italian international goalkeeper pulled off a string of important saves throughout last month, but one particular stop from our 3-1 win over Brentford on 21 September has been nominated as part of the league’s monthly honours list.

Midway through the second period, Vic pulled off an incredible close-range stop to deny Kevin Schade – a key moment as we pushed on to claim our first league win in three matches.

That save, along with stops from Ipswich Town’s Arijanet Muric, Newcastle United’s Nick Pope, Manchester United’s Andre Onana, Leicester City’s Mads Hermansen and Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, is in contention for the monthly prize.

Fans can vote online to help decide the winner – voting closes at 12pm on Monday, with the winning save set to be announced next Friday.
