The Club is pleased to announce AIA Australia, regional office of its Global Principal Partner, as Official Partner of this month’s post-season visit to Melbourne.

Part of Global Football Week Melbourne, the Spurs Men’s First Team will face Premier League opponents Newcastle United at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Wednesday 22 May, kick-off 7:45pm local time.

As well as branding and presence on the matchday, AIA Australia will deliver multiple initiatives across the two days in Melbourne. This includes a CSR initiative in the local community delivered by the Club’s Global Football Development Coaches, an exclusive high-performance session with professional coaches and a sponsored lunch with Tour Promoters TEG.

AIA Australia CEO Damien Mu said he looked forward to the team coming to Australia.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Tottenham Hotspur and their head coach Ange Postecoglou back to Australian soil. Their upcoming game against Newcastle at the MCG should be a captivating moment in Melbourne’s week of football,” Mu said.

“We’ve been a partner of Spurs for over a decade, during which time the team has played across the globe to inspire football players young and old and engage with its fans.

“We share a common belief in the power of sports to encourage healthy lifestyles and keeping active across all ages and all abilities. We look forward to a line-up of exciting and inspiring events with the team, including a fun morning of activities with young Melbourne fans.”

Donna-Maria Cullen, Executive Director, Tottenham Hotspur, added: “We are delighted to have the support of AIA Australia during our upcoming post-season visit to Melbourne. The planned two days of activities will be an extension of the fantastic partnership work that is delivered in communities across the Asia-Pacific region throughout the year, using football as a vehicle to promote healthier, longer and better lives.”

AIA will be offering tickets to its members and money-can’t-buy experiences with guests and members of the public to inspire even more Aussies to live a healthier, longer, better life.

AIA has been the Club’s Global Principal Partner since 2013. The partnership has been a powerful vehicle to deepen engagement with AIA communities across the Asia- Pacific region, with AIA’s popular football clinics delivered by the Club’s global coaching team benefitting over 80,000 children to date.

The Melbourne trip marks a return to his home city for Ange Postecoglou, who memorably took charge of the team for the first time on home soil when the team faced West Ham United in Perth last summer.
